European Simplicity for Studio Hals

A recent shoot for an architect who created this beautiful two-storey home just minutes from Melbourne CBD. Clean lines, restrained materials, and a distinctly European approach to minimalism make this project feel calm, elegant, and timeless.

One of the challenges of the shoot was showing just how close the property is to the city. Normally, this might be achieved with drone photography, but in this case we needed a different solution. Instead, we used a specialised extension pole to raise the camera several metres above the balcony, allowing us to capture the surrounding city views and give a much stronger sense of the home's location.

Sometimes architectural photography is simply about finding creative ways to tell the full story of a project.
