Art Reflecting the Space Around It

A recent shoot featuring the beautiful work of artist Marc Freeman. Each piece is designed to interact with its surroundings through a highly polished surface that reflects light, architecture, and the space around it. As a result, the artwork is never quite the same twice — every interior creates a different visual experience.

We photographed these works in the home where they will ultimately live. The challenge was preserving the reflective quality that makes the pieces so unique while still allowing the viewer to see the artwork itself. Through careful control of angles, lighting, and reflections, our goal was to reveal as much of the surface as possible without losing the relationship between the artwork and its environment.

Art like this doesn't simply hang on a wall — it becomes part of the space around it.
